The relative inflation for the Brazilian low-income families (earning between 1 and 2.5 minimum wages) posted a year-to-date increase of 11.52% in 2015, a result that is 0.99 percentage point higher than the inflation for families with an income from 1 to 33 minimum wages, which posted a year-to-date rise of 10.53%.
Data were released Wednesday (Jan. 6), by the Applied Economics at the Brazilian Institute (IBRE), which is housed in the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), and point out that in 2015 the food sector posted a year-to-date rise of 13%, the third largest increase for low-income families, only behind of housing, up 14.6%; and transport, up 13.2%.
