Brasília
The federal government collected $30.3 billion in taxes in September. This result reflects a real decrease of 8.27% compared to the same month in 2015, as adjusted for inflation measured by the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), the official inflation gauge used by the government. The figures were disclosed by the Federal Revenue Service in Brasília today (Oct. 27).
The nominal cumulative tax revenue so far this year was $292.1 billion in September, exceeding the previous year's cumulative figure for the period ($288.6 billion). But adjusting the figures for inflation, there turns out to have been a real decline of 7.54%.
