The launch of the Brazil Platform for Climate Investment and Ecological Transformation, aimed at enhancing international investment in the green economy through environmental and social projects, will be the highlight of Finance Minister Fernando Haddad's trip to Washington, USA, on Wednesday (Oct. 23). The event will also feature the participation of Minister for the Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva.

Accompanying Haddad are Minister of Planning Simone Tebet and President of the Central Bank Roberto Campos Neto. They will participate in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24.

Simultaneously, the fourth meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank heads will be held in the U.S. capital. This group comprises the world's 19 largest economies, along with the European Union and the African Union.

This will be the final meeting of finance ministers and central bank heads before the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro in November. Brazil will hold the presidency of the group until November 30, after which South Africa will take over in December.
