The Ministry of Education (MEC), through the Secretariat of Basic Education (SEB), launched the Integrated EJA Program, to increase the number of vacancies and offer technical courses integrated with Youth and Adult Education (EJA) aimed at professional qualification . The ordinance was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Thursday (2).

"The purpose of the Program is to contribute to the achievement of Goal 10 of the National Education Plan (PNE), which establishes at least 25% of enrollments in Youth and Adult Education (EJA), in the stages of elementary and secondary education, from integrated way with Professional Education, in accordance with the terms of the Law of Guidelines and Bases of Education (LDB)”, says a statement from the ministry.

The Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, stated that the program provides students with “double training, expanding access opportunities both in education and in the job market”.

The program proposes differentiated curricula that meet the uniqueness of the special education public, or indigenous and quilombola populations, refugees and migrants deprived of liberty, areas of difficult access, homeless people, rural areas and others, according to the MEC .

According to the secretary of Basic Education, Mauro Rabelo, the objective is to enable access, permanence and continuity of study for all people who have not started or who have interrupted the school education process.
