Three years after winning Brazil's first gold medal in a Taekwondo Grand Prix, in Sofia (Bulgaria), Maicon Andrade repeated the feat.

This time, the 29-year-old fighter climbed the highest step of the podium in Manchester (England) on Sunday (Oct. 23), after defeating the host Caden Cuningham, in the final of the category above 80 kilos.

Before winning the gold medal, Maicon, bronze medalist at the Rio 2016 Olympics, beat Lee Meng-em (Taiwan), Kang Yeon Ho (South Korea) in the round of 16, and Bryan Salazar (Mexico) in the quarterfinals.
