Goalball: Brazil reach world final, clinch spot in Paris 2024

They beat Iran in the quarterfinals and Lithuania in the semifinal

Paralympic champions Brazil have advanced to the final of the Goalball world championships in Matosinhos, Portugal, and secured a place at the Paris Games 2024.

On Thursday (Dec. 15), the Brazilians, who won the world title in 2021, crushed the Iranians in the quarterfinals 15–5 and eliminated Lithuania in the semi-finals with 9–4. Under the rules, the teams that compete for the title qualify for the Paralympics automatically.

The final match will be held Friday (16).
