Tite no longer coach of Brazil national team
Adenor Leonardo Bachi and Tite are still the same person, but neither one is the coach of the Brazilian team anymore. The 61-year-old had informed he would leave the command of the team after the World Cup in Qatar. On Tuesday (Jan. 17) he showed up at the headquarters of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) in Rio de Janeiro to terminate his contract. The coach had been in the job for six and a half years.
The former Brazilian football coach did not want to record interviews. He thanked the journalists and said Adenor was the one who was there, not Tite.
Despite failing in the two World Cups he coached Brazil in, Tite had an 80 percent success rate: 81 games, 60 wins, 15 draws, and six defeats. During this period, he also won the 2019 Copa America.
With the official end of the Tite era, the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation Ednaldo Rodrigues has promised to announce the name of the new coach of the national team by the end of this month. CBF would like a foreign name and Portuguese Abel Ferreira, current Palmeiras’ coach, is among the top names. Among Brazilians, Dorival Júnior - no team at the moment, after leaving Flamengo - and Fernando Diniz (Fluminense) are also among the possible Tite`s successors.
