Taekwondo: Brazil secures 19 athletes at Parapan-American Games
The Brazilian Paralympic Taekwondo team has won ten places for the Parapan-American Games in Santiago (Chile) during the Qualifying Tournament, disputed last Wednesday (Mar. 22) in Rio de Janeiro, which gathered 52 athletes from 12 countries.
However, Brazil will be represented, as of November 17 in Santiago, by a total of 19 athletes because, besides the ten classified in Rio de Janeiro this week, nine other Brazilians had qualified in the international ranking.
"We have the largest delegation of Paralympic taekwondo in the Parapan-American Games," paralympic taekwondo coordinator of the Brazilian Taekwondo Confederation (CBTkd) Rodrigo Ferla said.
In the calendar of events of the paralympic sport in 2023, the Parapan-American Games in Santiago occupy a special place because, according to the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB), they are the main competition of the Americas.
