Beach volleyball: Brazilian duos win medals on world circuit

Sunday (Apr. 16) was a special day for Brazilian beach volleyball, as the country won gold, silver, and bronze medals in Saquarema Challenge, a stage of the world circuit held in Rio de Janeiro. The duo Evandro and Arthur Lanci—fomed at the beginning of the year—was the champion, beating North Americans Budinger and Evan in the final, 2 sets to 1. 

In the women's category, Brazilian double Tainá and Victória topped the podium. They won silver, after being defeated in the final by Italians Menegatti and Gottardi, by 2 sets to 1. Andressa and Vitória beat Paulikiene and Raupelyte, from Lithuania, by 2 sets to 1, and won bronze. 

"The Beach Pro Tour, the final competition of the World Cup circuit in Brazil, featuring the world's best beach volleyball duos, will be held in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais state from April 26 to 30."

"Brazil clinched gold and silver at the Itapema stage of the World Cup circuit in Santa Catarina state, last Sunday (10), with André Stein and George winning gold, and Bárbara Seixas and Carol Solberg claiming silver."
