Brazil secures 400th medal in Paralympic Games history

At the end of the third day of athletics competitions at the Paris Paralympic Games, Brazil earned its 400th medal in Paralympic history. André Rocha, quadriplegic, clinched bronze in the F52 discus throw, a category for seated athletes.

The two-time world champion’s first Paralympic medal in this event rounded off Brazil's Paralympic tally, which now totals 117 golds, 136 silvers, and 147 bronzes since the country began competing in the Games at the 1972 edition in Heidelberg, then West Germany.

At the end of the fourth day of competitions in Paris, Brazil, which did not win any gold medals on Sunday, was surpassed by the United States in the medal table. Brazil fell to fourth place with a total of eight golds, four silvers, and 15 bronzes, making for 27 medals overall.
