A man suspected of firing the flare that killed cameraman Santiago Andrade during a protest on Thursday (Feb. 6) was arrested at dawn today (12). Caio Souza was held in Feira de Santana, Bahia, by officers of the Rio de Janeiro police unit in charge of the investigations.
An arrest warrant was already in place against him since Monday (10) for premeditated murder aggravated by use of explosives.
Souza was identified by tattoo artist Fábio Raposo as the man who lit the device that hit the cameraman. Raposo is in custody and has confessed to having handed the device to Souza.
