A new law was enacted Wednesday (Apr. 7) exempting foreigners coming to Brazil on business, or artists and athletes traveling as such, from the obligation to obtain tourist or temporary visas. The exemption applies to nationals from countries that reciprocate the treatment.

The new law also allows tourist and temporary visa applications to be submitted online using a form available on the consulate websites. Online applicants may still be required to provide their original documents.
