Italy and Costa Rica open the second World Cup round for Group D at Arena Pernambuco, Recife, today (Jun 20), at 1pm. Group leader Costa Rica has a 3-1 victory record over Uruguay . Italy, four-time world champion, beat England 2-1 at Arena Amazônia and is the current runner-up in its group.

At 4pm, Switzerland takes on France at Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador, as part of Group E. The Swiss team is the second-ranking in its group following a 2-1 win over Ecuador, whereas France leads the group having beaten Honduras 3-0.

Also as part of Group E, the last match of the day will be at 7pm at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, where Honduras, who brings up the group rear, plays second runner-up Ecuador.

Last Thursday (19), Colombia beat Côte d'Ivoire 2-1 in Brasília; Uruguay beat England at Arena Corínthians, the “Itaquerão” in São Paulo, by 2-1; and Japan and Greece tied 0-0 at Arena das Dunas in Natal.
