After a few mild days in Rio de Janeiro, the temperature is back on the rise this weekend. According to Sistema Alerta Rio, a forecasting institution connected with the City Hall, the weather was mostly clear this Friday (Jan 9), with the highest temperature reported at 39.6ºC, in Guaratiba, western Rio. The apparent temperature reached 44ºC.
For the weekend, the National Institute of Meteorology foresees clear albeit partly clouded skies, with temperatures ranging from 22ºC to 41ºC, steady throughout the day, and no rain expected. Temperatures should hold up until next Tuesday (13) because of a dry, hot air mass on the city, which keeps the weather stable and not so cloudy.
High temperatures are likely to lead to overcrowded beaches in the marvelous city this weekend.
