The Ministry of Justice has extended the presence of the National Public Security Force in the border areas in Acre, in the Brazilian Amazon, to last an additional 180 days. This period can be extended further if needed.

With the logistic support and supervision of the state public security departments, the National Force will assist with surveillance, inhibition, prevention and repression of smuggling and drug and arms trafficking in the area.

The troops will be given access to Public Security hotlines, information, intelligence, and incident reporting systems during their mission. The exact personnel to be deployed will be as planned by the relevant agencies involved in the operation.
