Rio 2016 Olympics Committee releases new ticket sale

The Rio 2016 Olympics Committee will release a new online ticket sale on Thursday (Jun. 9) from noon (local Rio/Brasília time) for the opening and closing ceremonies and men's athletics finals, including the 100m, 200m and 4x100 relay events that may feature Jamaica's star runner Usain Bolt.

Ticket prices vary for athletics and the ceremonies in the A, B, C, and D viewing categories. For the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games (August 5 at 7:15pm), available ticket prices range between R$600 and R$4,600 (around $177-$1,360). For the closing ceremony on August 21, tickets can be purchased from R$600 to R$3,000 ($177-$890).

Tickets for the men's 100m athletics finals on August 14 (evening) will be available at R$350-R$1,200 ($103-$350). For the 200m finals on August 18, prices range between R$260 and R$900 ($76-$265.50). The 4x100 relay finals will take place on August 19, with tickets ranging from R$350 to R$1,200 ($103-$350).
