Most Brazilians describe Temer's administration as bad or terrible
Brazilian President Michel Temer's administration was regarded as bad or terrible by 74% of the population, according to a survey by pollster CNI/Ibope. Six percent described it as great or good, 19% OK, and 2% did not know or did not answer. The statistics were released today (Dec. 20) by the National Industry Confederation (CNI), which commissioned the poll.
In the previous survey, published in September, 3% of respondents said the government was great or good, 16% OK, 77% bad or terrible, and 3% did not know or did not answer.
The figures also show the degree of confidence placed on Temer. The percentage of Brazilians who trust him hiked from 6% to 9%. Ninety percent do not. In the previous poll, this value stood at 92%. The number of people who disapprove of the president's governing style also changed slightly—from 89% to 88%. Approving Brazilians went from 7% in September to 9% now.
“There was a slight increase in the popularity for all indicators, but it remains low, bearing in mind the trajectory so far,” said Renato da Fonseca, Executive-Manager for CNI's Research and Competitiveness Unit.
The study for the third quarter of 2017 was conducted from December 7 to 10, and heard 2 thousand people across 127 municipalities. It reveals Brazilians' opinion about the work of the federal government.
The margin of error is 2% plus or minus, and the level of confidence 95%.
