Brazil starts issuing credentials for tourist agencies serving Chinese
The registration period for Brazilian tourist agencies seeking credentials to serve Chinese tourists started Tuesday (5), the Tourism Ministry reported. The step is a requirement imposed by the Asian country and may be completed online.
To get credentials, agencies must sign up on National Registration CadasTur, of Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism, and state they agree with its terms.
The ministry is the only agency tasked with the screening. In 2018, 59 tourist agencies were authorized to serve Chinese tourists.
Keen travelers
Tourism Minister Marcelo Álvaro Antônio said Chinese tourists are the ones who travel across the world the most, adding that Brazil should welcome more visitors from China.
“We need to enhance our services in order to draw more interest from the Chinese in having Brazil as their destination. That’s what this call’s for—making the experience of these visitors unforgettable,” he said.
