79 fatalities registered in Pernambuco due to heavy rainfalls

According to recent data from Brazilian civil defense authorities, 79 people died in Pernambuco, as a result of heavy rains in this state. So far, 14 municipalities are in an emergency situation, among 63 municipalities that are under monitoring. 3,957 homeless people have received shelter in the affected area.
The update was published on Twitter by civil defense authorities, which have put out an alert over the continuation of rains in the east of Northeastern Brazil, causing "high risks to the population in these areas".
Rainfalls have been hitting Pernambuco since last Wednesday (25).
Local authorities are monitoring and reinforcing actions in the metropolitan regions of Recife, Zona da Mata, and Agreste.
