About 130,000 marijuana plants were destroyed by the Federal Police, between November 2 and 6, in the state of Pará. The plantation was spread over Alto Rio Guamá indigenous land and federal and private lands, in Nova Esperança do Piriá, in the northeast of the state.
With the support of helicopters, police and state fire department officers acted in 15 points of difficult access in an area inhabited by Tembés indigenous people. The plantations were found with the help of satellite images.
Cannabis sativa seedlings equivalent to about 40 tons of marijuana were cut and burned, according to police forensics, which also participated in the operation.
