Brazil grants special visas to Ukrainian war victims
Brazil’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs and of Justice and Public Security disclosed on Tuesday (Mar. 14) a document explaining how to apply for temporary visas and residence permits that the country will grant to Ukrainians and stateless people, for humanitarian reasons, as a consequence of the armed conflict in Ukraine.
According to the text, the temporary visa is valid for 180 days.
Stateless immigrants must start, within 90 days after entering national territory, the process of recognition of the stateless condition at the Ministry of Justice through the SisApatridia system, available at www.gov.br.
The interministerial decree, valid until December 31, 2024, also specifies all the necessary documents to be submitted to the consular authority, both for temporary visas and residence permits.
