The baskets were purchased for BRL 5.2 million at an auction, paid for with funds from the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family, and Fight Against Hunger (MDS). After arriving at the storage unit, the food will be sent to the National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (FUNAI) and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), and then forwarded to the Yanomami people.

The company expects to acquire, by June of this year, another 76,152 baskets, worth a total of BRL 54.9 million. By the end of the year, 143,161 food baskets are expected to be distributed. Of these, 101,536 will be allocated to the Yanomami.
