In her official visit to Italy, President Dilma Rousseff talked about opportunities for infrastructure investment in Brazil to the country's Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and President Sergio Mattarella. Rousseff met with the Italian leaders today (Jul 10) in Rome.

“I discussed with the president and the prime minister the investment opportunities arising in Brazil for railways, for example. A number of Italian companies may take part in the auctions for railways, ports, and airports. I urged all Italian investors to strengthen their presence in Brazil by participating in the new phase of the “[Program for Investment in Logistics]”, she told the press, while next to Renzi.

“We've agreed today to raise the relations between our ministers to the highest level, thus strengthening our ties and bringing about real changes,” the president said.

In Rome, the president also met with José Graziano, director-general of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and a fellow Brazilian.

After fulfilling her engagements in Rome, the president proceeded to Milan, where she is expected to attend the Expo Milano 2015, one of the world's major fairs for the promotion of innovation and creative solutions. In the international fair, Brazil holds a pavilion where the country unveils food production projects with groundbreaking sustainable technology aimed at addressing global demands.
