Online platform will speed up refugee application in Brazil
A digital platform will speed up bureaucratic procedures for submitting applications for refugee status and also to help refugees living in Brazil. Sisconare, as the platform is called, was brought into operation on the website of the country’s Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
The change will address the needs of both those seeking refuge in the country and those already granted refugee status. The goal is to reduce paperwork and provide all those involved in the process—like applicants, the Federal Police, and the National Committee for Refugees (Conare)—with speedy access to information.
For refugees in Brazil, Sisconare will enable requests like travel permits and family reunions to be processed online with promptness and transparency.
