Approval ratings for President Dilma Rousseff have dropped in March, a poll conducted by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) reported Thursday (Mar. 27). The percentage of the population that rates the government as “excellent” or “good” has fallen from 43% to 36%.

Compared to the previous survey released last November, approval for the president's administrative style has also dropped, going down from 56% to 51%.

In the same trend, the level of trust placed on the president decreased from 52% to 48%, though the difference still falls within the margin of sampling error.

This has been the first update of the CNI/Ibope poll in 2014, for which 2002 respondents from 141 municipalities were interviewed between March 14 and 17.
