Brazil's President Temer: “Trump election doesn't change Brazil-US relations”
Brazil's President Michel Temer wrote on his Twitter about Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election. In his opinion, the two countries should maintain their institutional relations, so there should be no major changes.
“I have said that Brazil's relationship with the US and other countries is an institutional one, that is to say, from State to State,” the Brazilian president wrote. “I am sure it won't change anything in Brazil's relations with the United States.”
Temer went on to say that, upon taking office as president, Trump should be “sensitive to the aspirations of all American people.”
Business tycoon Donald Trump was elected president of the United States in the early hours today (Nov. 9), garnering 276 votes from Electoral College delegates. He ran against the Democrats' Hillary Clinton. Trump secured a majority in such key states as Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. He will be sworn into office on January 20.
