Minister and First Lady present government actions aimed at women

Minister of Women, Family, and Human Rights Cristiane Rodrigues Brito, and First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro on Sunday (May 8) held a speech broadcast by radio and TV stations on Mother´s Day. They pointed out several programs of the Brazilian government aimed at women, from motherhood to entrepreneurship.

“Women are a priority not only for Brazil Aid, a government´s income transfer program, but also for housing programs, and for all land regularization processes,” said Michelle Bolsonaro. Actions offering credit for the productive inclusion of women have also been highlighted.

In her speech, the First Lady has mentioned the Income and Opportunity Program (PRO), which allows the reimbursement of expenses with daycare, and the release of the FGTS pension fund for the payment of expenses with early childhood education.

On the other hand, Women Minister Brito added Pro encourages the promotion of women's employability with qualifications in strategic areas, so they can grow in their profession, and the support for mothers in returning from maternity leave.

During the event, the Cuida Mais Brasil program was launched. It focuses on women's and maternal and child health. More than BRL 170 million ($ 33 million dollars) shall be invested in this program to provide care to women before, during, and after pregnancy.

“Another new strategy we have created to reach women is Brazil`s Mothers program. It promotes public policies aimed at the integral protection of women's dignity, in order to support them during their motherhood, from conception to child care phase,” the Minister said. According to her, this action is carried out in partnership with municipalities.
