As of this Thursday (Jul. 21), the last large batch of tickets for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be available for all sports. The sale will offer 100,000 tickets with prices ranging between R$40 ($12) and R$1,200 ($369). Due to the large number of tickets available, the Organizing Committee is calling today the “Super Thursday”.

The most expensive tickets are those for the volleyball, basketball, football, and athletics finals—where viewers could possibly get a chance to see Jamaica's star sprinter Usain Bolt. The new batch also includes tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies of the games.

According to the committee, the completion of the arenas and the final plans for broadcasting equipment areas enabled the committee to free up previously unavailable seating areas for some sessions that had been sold out. Tickets can be purchased online on www.rio2016.com/tickets or from official ticket offices in Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Manaus, Salvador, and São Paulo.

“We have tickets for all sports again. It's a great chance for people to secure a ticket for the most popular events,” said Donovan Ferreti, Ticketing Director at the Rio 2016 Committee. So far, 6.1 million tickets have been made available for sale. Of these, 72% have been sold. According to Ferreti, 1.6 million tickets are still available.

The most popular tickets are those for swimming, tennis, and volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, and football finals.
