Paralympic torch lit in Brasília with flame of equality

In a ceremony that marked the beginning of the Paralympic torch relay in Brazil, the flame was lit this Thursday (Sep. 1) in Brasília, first of five cities hosting the Paralympic flame.
Each city will bear the symbol for one paralympic value. Brasília will be equality; Belém, determination; Natal, inspiration; Joinville, courage; São Paulo, transformative power; and Rio de Janeiro, passion for sport. To participate in the relay, internet users need to post a message on social media with the official hashtag and the hashtag of the value for the city that day. To light the flame in Brasília, for example, internet users posted the hashtags #ParalympicFlame and #equality.
The five flames will arrive in Rio through digital highways. They will be virtually sent to the host city after the end of the relay in each region. On September 6, a ceremony to unite the flames will form the Paralympic flame at the Museum of Tomorrow, which is a symbol of Rio's revitalized port area.
