The US, UK and Australia are among those who have announced a diplomatic boycott of the sporting event, which will be held Feb. 4-20 in Beijing.
Australia, United Kingdom and Canada joined the US and decided not to send authorities to the sporting mega-event scheduled to be held in Beijing in the year 2022.
The Beijing embassy in Washington said in a Twitter message that the boycott "only seeks to politicize sport, create divisions and provoke confrontation."
The US Government's decision will not impact the country's athletes, who normally participate in the sporting event held in the Chinese location of Beijing.
The country must hold the event between February 4th and 20th, without foreign spectators and with all athletes and related personnel contained in a sanitary bubble.
