Usually, food prices increase during the summer months due to climatic factors that impact production, particularly for fresh foods like tubers, vegetables, and fruits.
The amount was pulled chiefly by food and drinks, and stood below 2021’s 10.06%. Health and personal care expenses became 11.43$ pricier. Clothing was up 18.02%.
All nine groups registered inflation in June, especially food and beverages. Among the items with the highest increase are meals and snacks eaten away from home.
The main impact on March comes from transport, up 3.02 percent this month, pulled up by fuel price hikes. Gasoline had the greatest impact on the IPCA in March (6.95%).
The result brings the inflation up 1.56 percent in the first two months of the year. The main drivers were education (5.61%) and food and beverages (1.28%).
