Rosas de Ouro wins São Paulo’s samba school Carnival

Sociedade Rosas de Ouro was the big winner of São Paulo’s 2025 samba school parade Carnival. The school scored 269.8 points, followed by Acadêmicos do Tatuapé (269.8) and Gaviões da Fiel (269.7).
The tie-breaker was the sum of all the scores received, including those discarded.
The winning school’s song, entitled Rosas de Ouro em uma grande jogada (“Rosas de Ouro in a Big Gamble”), had as its theme the history of gambling and how betting has had an impact on humanity.
“The fear of losing mustn’t prevail / over the urge to win / This game will turn / Rosas de Ouro, the big gamble / You can bet on it,” the opening lyrics say.
History
This year’s victory brings the school’s total to eight titles in the special division of São Paulo’s Carnival—where all top-ranking schools are grouped. Rosas de Ouro had won its last title in 2010, 15 years ago.
Sociedade Rosas de Ouro was founded in 1971 in the Brasilândia district, in Northern São Paulo city.
