Car sales increase in July, but have year to date fall of 19.4% in 2015

The production has also increased compared to June, but it fell 14.9%

Car sales were up 5.7% in July compared to June. But the year to date drop is 19.4%. On the first seven months of the year, 1.3 million cars were sold, while during the same period in 2014, 1.6 cars were sold. The survey was released Thursday (Aug. 6) by the Brazilian Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers  (Anfavea)

According to the balance sheet, in July this year 189,900 cars were licensed, and 179,600 in June.

The production has also increased compared to June this year, from 182.7 thousand to 215.1 thousand – a growth of 17.8%. However, compared to July 2014, when 252,700 cars were produced, the production fell 14.9%.

The number of people employed in the sector had a slight decrease from July to June (0.9%). The number fell from 136,900 to 135,700. However, compared to July 2014, there was a drop of 9.7%, when the sector employed 150,200 people.
