Brazil balance of trade closed out September with a $2.944 billion surplus. The result is the best for a month of September since 2011. Year-to-date, the balance stands at a positive $10.246 billion, the highest performance for the period since 2012—$16.148 billion were generated by exports and $13.204 billion spent on imports.
Dollar hikes and a slip in imports have contributed to the positive outcome in the trade balance.
The data were released Thursday (Oct. 1) by the Ministry of Development, Industry, and Foreign Trade.
