Oil production over 3 million a day in November
Brazil’s oil production for the first time surpassed the threshold of 3 million barrels a day, reaching 3.09 million in November, as per data released today (Dec. 23) by the country’s National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas, and Biofuels, ANP.
The previous record was a daily average of 2.989 million barrels of oil, reported in August.
Output in November this year was 4.3 percent higher than that of October and 20.4 percent above November 2018.
As for natural gas, the November production totaled 137 million cubic meters a day, up 3.8 percent from October and up 21.6 percent from November last year
Pre-salt
The daily production of pre-salt oil stood at 2.061 million barrels, 66.7 percent of the national total and 83.7 million cubic meters of natural gas, 61.1 percent of the country’s total amount.
Oil and natural gas considered together, the country’s total production added up to 3.95 million barrels of oil equivalent, of which 2.588 million—65.5 percent—were obtained from pre-salt wells.
