Brazil’s vehicle production up 6.9% Jan.–Nov.

Vehicle production in Brazil grew 6.9 percent from January to November, reaching 2,178.2 thousand units, compared to 2,037.3 thousand produced in the same period last year. As per figures released today (Dec. 7) by the country’s national association of car makers Anfavea, in November, the output reached 215,800 vehicles, up a 4.9 percent from the same month in 2021 and 4.7 percent compared to October.

The sales of new vehicle dropped 1.3 percent from January to November, with 1,887.5 thousand units traded, compared to 1,912.8 thousand in the same time span last year. In November, the units sold totaled 204 thousand, up 12.8 percent against October and 17.9 percent against November last year.

Exports were up 34.3 percent from January to November, with 449.7 thousand units sold to the foreign market. In the same span last year this number stood at 334.8 thousand. Compared to November last year, foreign sales surged 55 percent and, compared to October, the growth was 1.2 percent, per Anfavea’s monthly balance sheet.

The number of people employed in the auto industry in November reached 104,523, up 0.2 percent compared to October and 1.9 percent compared to November last year, when the number of jobs sat at 102,583.
