In June, Brazil’s trade balance showed a remarkable positive surplus—the largest ever recorded for the month since 1995—amounting to $8.603 billion.

Exports of goods reached $30.247 billion in June, reflecting an 8.7 percent decline compared to the same month in 2022. Conversely, imports amounted to $21.645 billion, marking a 16.1 percent decrease from the previous year.

This drop in export value can be attributed to lower international prices, while the reduction in imports resulted from a decline in import volumes, as reported by Brazil's Central Bank on Wednesday (Jul. 26) in Brasília.
