Brazil’s coach Tite said his team exceeded expectations in the 4-0 win over Bolivia Tuesday night (Mr. 29), held as part of the 18th round of the South American qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The match was played at an altitude of 3,600 meters in La Paz, Bolivia.

“Yes, [the team exceeded] any expectations I could have on the performance, in both qualitative and quantitative terms. We were coming under so many adversities, and to pull such an elastic score, with a solid number of shots, keeping up and taking turns without departing from the main strategy…,” the coach said during a presser after the match.

Also among the highlights in Brazil’s performance at the altitude of La Paz was striker Richarlison, who scored twice. “Really tough game up here. Our coach came up with a tactic the team did really well with. Congratulations, everyone. It was worth the effort. We will continue pursing our next victory,” he wrote in a message shared on the social media of Brazil’s football confederation CBF.

Draw

After the duel in the last round of the South American qualifiers for the World Cup, attention turns to the draw for the World Cup groups, slated for 1 pm Brasília time next Friday (Apr. 1), in Doha, Qatar.
