Football coach Tite has called up the Brazilian men's team for the next preparatory games for the Qatar World Cup. Brazil shall play against South Korea and Japan in June. Wha is new on the list of 27 players released on Wednesday (Apr. 11) is midfielder Danilo from Palmeiras-SP.

The first friendly match will take place on June 2 in Seoul against South Korea. Four days later Brazil will face Japan, in Tokyo.

Besides Danilo, the list includes only two other footballers who play in Brazil: goalkeeper Weverton (Palmeiras-SP), and Guilherme Arena (Atlético-MG).

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 starts on November 21, and Brazil will make its debut three days later against Serbia - Group G, which also includes Switzerland and Cameroon.

During a press conference, Tite has pointed out the purpose of the next games. “Our national team needs to be more creative and offensive, what I´ve already said some time ago. In these last five games it has reached this level and we want to consolidate it so that it stays a balanced team”.

Brazil still has to face Argentina within the scope of the World Cup Qualifiers, which was interrupted in September after the intervention of Brazil’s national drug regulator Anvisa, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. On Monday (Apr. 9), FIFA Appeals Committee decided the match shall be rescheduled, after considering the appeals presented by the federations of both countries.
