On Wednesday (Jul. 13), Brazil was classified for the semifinals of the volleyball women's Nations League, after defeating Japan in the quarterfinals by 3 sets to 1, in Ankara (Turkey).

The great highlight of the team led by coach José Roberto Guimarães was pointer Gabi with 23 points ( 22 - attack and 1 - block). “It was an incredible victory against Japan in the quarterfinals. We attacked several times to get the ball down, and we had patience and courage in the moments of decision. We came together in times of difficulty and that was fundamental. We started making a lot of mistakes in the first two sets, but we managed to reverse and bring the victory to our team. After losing the third set, we came back with a better posture in the fourth, knowing where to attack and [being] more aggressive,” Gabi said.

In the next competition phase, Brazil will face Serbia, which beat the United States by 3 sets to 2. The game will take place next Saturday (16) at a time still to be confirmed by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
