Athletico-PR and Palmeiras begin to fight over who should head for the final of the Libertadores Cup on Tuesday (Aug 30), at Curitiba’s Arena da Baixada.

Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari hopes that the Athletico-PR make two heroic games in the semifinal of the main competition of soccer clubs on the continent.

“I understand that it will be a very balanced game. Knowing Palmeiras as I do, their way of working, their concepts through Abel and his group, which are very strong, we will have to play very well to win.”

On the other side of the pitch will be the current leader of the Brazilian championship, Palmeiras. For the confrontation with Athletico-PR, Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira will not be able to count on Gustavo Scarpa and Danilo. Both players were sent off in the quarterfinals against Atlético-MG and must be replaced with José Lopez and Gabriel Menino.

The teams face each other at 9:30 pm Brasília time.
