Brazil beats Switzerland and qualifies for round of 16 in Qatar

Casemiro secured first Brazilian victory over Swiss in World Cups

Brazil did not have an easy time before the organized defense of Switzerland, but secured a 1-0 victory this Monday (28) at Stadium 974 (the famous arena built with containers on the banks of the bay of Doha and that will be dismantled at the end of the World Cup), which assured the team in advance one of the two places in Group G for the round of 16 of the Cup in Qatar.

The victory had a special flavor, as it was the Brazilian team's first victory over the European team in World Cups, after two draws (in the 1950 World Cup, held in Brazil, and the 2018 World Cup, in Russia).

In the next round, starting at 4 pm (EST) on Friday (2), Brazil (already qualified for the round of 16 and with everything to stay in first place in the group) faces Cameroon. At the same time, Switzerland will have a European duel against Serbia. The die is cast.
