This was a historic Sunday for Brazilian boxing: 30-year-old Beatriz Ferreira won the world title for the second time in her career. Ferreira is the Olympic vice-champion in Tokyo and is currently number 1 in the world ranking. She defeated on Sunday (Mar. 26), in the final of the up to 60 kilos category, Colombian Angiel Paola Valdez Pana, in New Delhi (India).

Bia Ferreira is the first Brazilian boxer to compete in three finals in a row in the Women's World Boxing Championships: she won gold in 2019 and silver last year.

The world competition in New Delhi brought together athletes from 23 countries. The Brazilian delegation traveled to India with seven athletes.
