Rio de Janeiro has been chosen as the host city for the 41st edition of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, scheduled for August 2025. The confirmation was received by the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation (CBG) from the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) on Thursday (Nov. 23), following Brazil's formal request filed nine days earlier. The CBG garnered support from the Brazilian government, including the Ministry of Sport and the General Secretariat, in its bid for hosting the event.

CBG head Luciene Resende expressed the significance of Brazil's acknowledgment in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, stating, "Receiving the right to organize this event on Brazilian soil gives me a different emotion. It's a recognition that Brazil is strong inside the gym and outside it. The FIG is endorsing our capacity for organization, logistics, and welcoming the best athletes in the world with hospitality."

Minister of Sport André Fufuca joined in the celebration, emphasizing that Brazilian gymnasts “will showcase the country's greatness, dedication, and competence on the global stage.”
