Brazil's Air Force (FAB) has suspended contracts with US-based Dallas Airmotive as of Friday (Dec. 12). The Wall Street Journal reported the aircraft maintenance provider told a US court that it had bribed FAB officials as well as Roraima state government officials. The payments were allegedly made in the period between 2008 and 2012.

In its admission of bribery, Dallas Airmotive agreed to pay $14 million in fines, the newspaper said.

Through a statement, FAB said that contracts with Dallas will be suspended until the allegations are fully investigated, and if proven, the contracts will be terminated. A military police inquiry has been launched to investigate the involvement of officials, whose identities are still unknown according to the Air Force.

“Brazil's Air Force reiterates its strong repudiation of such conduct, and strictly acts to prevent any misconduct by staff members,” the statement read.
