Since the beginning of the war between Israel and Hamas, the FAB's Operation Returning in Peace has conducted 13 flights, bringing approximately 1,500 people to Brazil.
Some 15 thousand kits will be distributed by the end of March. The initiative comes as part of Operation Catrimani, of the Armed Forces.
The 21 repatriated landed Tuesday morning at Viracopos International Airport in Campinas, São Paulo. They came on a Brazilian Air Force aircraft from Brasília, where they had been since Saturday, when they arrived from Cairo.
In addition to bringing the Brazilians, the plane is carrying six tons of humanitarian supplies, including water purifiers, and is slated to arrive in Brasília at 8 am on Saturday (Dec. 23).
Onboard are 40 portable water purifiers and two kits of medicines and supplies, dispatched by the Brazilian government to address the emergency situation in the Gaza Strip, which has been under bombardment by Israel since October 7.
