Brazil's Federal Revenue Service have seized 399 kilos of cocaine in a container that was due to ship from the port of Santos to Antwerp, Belgium. The drug was stopped at customs late yesterday afternoon (Jan 10).
The cocaine was found in 14 bags hidden inside an iron ore container. The drug is believed to have been sneaked into the shipment without the owner knowing it—a smuggling tactics known as 'rip-off loading'. The drug was taken to the Federal Police unit in Santos.
In 2016, the Federal Revenue Service seized a record 10.6 tons in the same port.
