President Jair Bolsonaro confirmed his participation at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, from January 22–25. The procedure to remove his colostomy bag was rescheduled to January 28, after he returns to Brazil.

His attendance was requested by Economy Minister Paulo Guedes.  “I asked him to postpone [the surgery] until a week later, and the doctor liked it—the later the better. I plan to go to Davos, Switzerland, at the request of Paulo Guedes. It will be my debut outside Brazil,” the president sait.

Vice-President serves as Brazil’s head of state in the absence of Bolsonaro, who spared no compliments about the general’s competence, adding that the policies of his administration will remain unchanged during his trip, and guaranteed there would be no “adventures.”

Bolsonaro has been using a colostomy bag since he suffered a knife attack at a campaign rally in the city of Juiz de Fora on September 6. His intestines were injured, and Bolsonaro had to undergo two surgeries. He spent 22 days in hospital.
