Brasília
Brazil and Bolivia will step up joint measures to fight drug trafficking in border regions, as per a document made public on Monday (Sep 16), which adds to a deal signed in 1996.
Actions include bolstering the operational capacity of the Bolivian police and the Brazilian Highway Police in their efforts to inspect roads, making facilities available for technical cooperation, and exchanging relevant data.
Funds for the project may come from “public and private institutions, NGOs, international entities, technical cooperation agencies, and regional and international programs, which must be listed in legal instruments other than this complementary amendment.”
