Embraer, Brazil’s conglomerate that produces airplanes and aerospace parts, has unveiled its new electric flying car. The reduced prototype took off at Embraer’s headquarters in Gavião Peixoto, São Paulo, last week.

The project comes as part of Eve Urban Air Mobility Solutions, aiming to develop the urban mobility ecosystem.

The company has developed a portfolio of solutions to prepare the market, including a certification for electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles (eVTOL) and the creation of solutions in urban air traffic management.

Specs

Embraer’s eVTOL project features ten propellers, eight horizontal and two vertical, and looks like a large drone, but is designed to transport passengers.

At first, the vehicle should be led by a pilot, but the project should include a totally autonomous flight in the future.
